Our story
Keruw was born during the pandemic in November 2020. After two years of research, development and a lot of effort connecting with several communities, our team created the perfect design, where a modern and functional line merges with traditional and ancestral elements of one of the most beloved indigenous tribes in Colombia, the Wayúu community.
Why Keruw?
Tradition and Culture
When we thought about Keruw, we wanted to create something with an “out of the box,” approach, which means, taking something existing (Wayúu fabrics) to build and design something entirely new. Keruw was born from an innovative and creative process where we merge exciting designs with the heritage soul of the Wayúu tribe.
Modern Design
We have created the perfect product where the mixture of a modern and functional design merges with the traditional and ancestral soul of one of the most iconic and beloved indigenous tribes in Colombia.
100% Handmade Products
Keruw products utilize raw materials 100% handmade by our suppliers, and all finished goods are 100% assembled manually by Keruw’s team. We use high-quality materials to deliver our customers a modern and sophisticated end product, incorporating traditional fabrics from the Wayúu tribe.
Colombian Craft
By creating innovative products and including raw materials (fabrics) from the Wayúu tribe, Keruw wants to honor the Colombian artisan industry to foster its recognition worldwide, promoting tribal artisan’s crafts and improving the quality of life and well-being of these indigenous communities.
